Dr. Erwin Lo, Neurosurgeon and founder, developed a wound healing solution to address issues with infection while he was doing missionary work in Central America. He later collaborated with a group of experts in material science and biotechnology, to develop a soluble antimicrobial solution that has long-lasting efficacy.
Dr. Erwin Lo, co-founder of microSURE, is a neurosurgeon with over 24 years of experience performing minimally invasive procedures, neurosurgical interventions, and peripheral nerve surgeries. His extensive mission work in Central America drove him to develop a solution that would treat infectious disease pathogens in the most extreme environments. Dr. Lo has dedicated the last 15 years to developing microSURE antimicrobial solutions. He has published his research in numerous scientific journals.

Dr. Lo earned his Masters of Science (MS) degree in biology from DePaul University Graduate College and obtained his MD from Rush Medical College in Chicago, Illinois. He completed his neurological surgical residencies at University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, Houston, University of Texas Health Science Center, Hermann Hospital, Houston, and University of Texas Medical Branch, Galveston. Dr. Lo completed all three steps of the USMLE (United States Medical Licensing Examination), and he maintains his certification with the American Board of Neurological Surgery.

HOW DOES IT WORK?
A PCR swab sample is mixed with an antigen test strip. The SARS-CoV-2 viral antigens bind to anti-SARS-CoV-2 nucleocapsid protein antibodies conjugated to indicator and capture particles in the test strip forming an immune complex. The immune complex is then captured by the test line on the nitrocellulose membrane as it migrates through the strip to detect early onset infection.

In February or 2020, Innovest Global’s three divisions were in full swing when Innovest Global Senior Leadership Team was forced to shut down the corporate headquarters in Chesterland, Ohio where the majority of division senior leadership operated from, and send the team home to work together virtually, along with all other businesses in the state. Throughout March and April, the team worked tirelessly to pivot in response to this catastrophic event, turning its Health and Safety Division, Chagrin Safety Supply into a company fully focused on supplying critical and nearly impossible to find PPE to businesses in need. Chagrin Safety Supply had built a strong reputation for itself in protecting Americans from pathogenic threats over the last three decades. They were the master contract winner for the USPS during the anthrax scare of 2001. Since then, they shipped hundreds of millions of nitrile gloves across North America, and it was through the business contacts made and relationships built throughout those years that they were able to draw on trusted connections in our country’s time of need to help protect Americans from coronavirus.
Fast-forward to the beginning of May and the Innovest Global Leadership Team taken every precaution to ensure a safe work environment, in order to bring his team back to the office. This would allow Innovest Global’s three divisions to return to an environment of in-person collaboration, which would result in a company firing on all cylinders, achieving full productivity. The team had been back in the office, following all safety protocols by washing their hands and social distancing for just over a week, and the threat of COVID-19 looked like it had respected the compliance of the Innovest Global team and left them alone. On Memorial Day, the President was enjoying time at the pool with his family, as has been their tradition for years, when he received a call from his VP of Sales and Marketing. He had a bad feeling about it because he knew they were both scheduled to be enjoying the holiday with family. What followed next would forever change the way Innovest Global Leadership thought about true business preparedness. They found out that a member of the production team, who worked out of the Innovest Global corporate HQ had tested positive for coronavirus. The President called around thinking he would find someone, somewhere with a solution, but was dismayed and alarmed to find that no one had a solution to the issue. He wasn’t able to find a governmental entity, nor private health and safety business that had a plan to deal with this situation. The Leadership Team quickly jumped into action and drew on relationships established through Innovest Global’s Biotech company, StemVax to get access to tests and lab resources to process the results of the tests. The entire Innovest Global team was promptly tested and luckily no one else in the organization had contracted coronavirus. The infected employee was sent home, and the office was back to business as usual. It was in this exercise that Innovest Global leadership realized that if it could happen to their team, with every precaution being taken, it could happen to any organization. It was realized that Innovest Global had all the resources needed to create a system to protect Innovest Global, and a decision was made to create a system that would help other companies or schools. The 4 Point Safety Plan (4PSP) was born of this ambition. Now it is available for organizations of all sizes, to allow for the return to full productivity, by bringing their people back together.
